With spring winding down and summer on its way, the Home Improvement Outlet has everything you need to start checking things off your To-Do list! Whether you're working outside staining decks and painting fences, or keeping cool indoors laying new flooring and installing new lighting, we can help you make it happen.
Habitat' s Home Improvement Outlet is open to the general public. Compared with other retail building materials stores, the Outlet sells brand new materials at a savings of up to 50 percent or more. The rapidly increasing cost of land and construction in the Seattle area compelled our Habitat affiliate to seek new ways of funding our mission to help low-income families buy affordable housing. Habitat affiliates around the U.S., operate more than 500 building materials retail stores. The 40,000 square foot Home Improvement Outlet is sponsored by the Seattle-South King County Habitat for Humanity affiliate. Donations of new materials sold by Habitat' s Home Improvement Outlet are tax-deductible and donated mostly from manufacturers, retail store overstock, building contractors, and individuals such as yourself. Habitat for Humanity requires qualified low-income buyers to work a minimum of 500 hours helping to build their home. They buy the home at cost, on a 20- to 30-year no-interest mortgage, at a monthly payment at or below 30 percent of their gross monthly income.
